Golf is a higly versatile sport that’s suitable for all ages, from kids up to senior citizens.  It’s also an excellent excuse to spend some time with friends, unwind and get a bit of exercise. If you’re thinking of taking a few swings while you’re here, then have a look at these tips we’ve prepared for you to enjoy a round of golf.

  1. Your final score never depends on the first few holes

You should always remember that the first holes are only the beginning of the game. Many golfers base their game on the first holes, if they manage a good shot, their confidence grows, and then their performance drops later on. In contrast, if they take a bad shot, they become unfocused and don’t manage to improve in later holes.

  1. One hole at a time

This tip goes hand in hand with number 1. Each hole is different and has other obstacles, so if you mess up on one hole it doesn’t mean the next is going to go badly, and vice versa, if you score well on one hole, it’s no guarantee the next one is going to be as good. The best thing you can do is enjoy one hole at a time.

  1. A business game is not the same as working

It’s true that many golfers meet with business partners, clients or workmates for a round of golf, if this is you then remember that the game always comes first. Make the most of the opportunity to relax, and there will always be time to talk about business afterwards.

  1. Practice before taking a shot, but not too much

Many golfers have their routine and practice their swing before taking a shot. This is strongly recommended as it tends to leave your mind more open to a good shot and you nearly always hit the ball exactly as you had planned, however, there’s alway the risk of over exaggerating and wanting to impress other players.

  1. Self confidence

This is one of the most valuable tips. With every hole, you practice more and improve your technique. You have to put your trust in everything you’ve learned and believe that with every shot you’re one step closer to a hole in one.

  1. Walk instead of using the buggy

It’s true that all golf courses have buggies available, but why not take the opportunity to stroll from hole to hole, this way you’ll get a little more exercise and appreciate the landscape more.

  1. Get rid of distractions

Golf, just like other sports, helps you to relax and clear your mind. So before hitting the golf course make sure to leave all your worries and distractions behind and turn off your mobile. This way you’re not tempted to see what’s pending or check your email. The game is a special time to concentrate solely on each shot.

  1. Choose the best time to play

Golf is one of those sports that you can play at any time of the day, all year round, nonethelesss, we recommend playing early in the morning when the light is good, and the sun is not so strong.

  1. Experience it from all perspectives

We recommend enjoying the experience from all angles. You learn a lot with each shot but you can also learn a lot as a caddie accompanying other golfers, and you’re sure to gain something positive out of the experience.

  1. Involve the children

As we mentioned before, this is also a sport for the young ones, and many courses have suitable facilities for kids, so the next time you decide to head to the golf course, bring the kids along with you. They’ll love it.
