The Disney Shanghai Resort, in the most populous city in China, has a strong Asian character

From this week, Disney has its seventh theme park thanks to the opening of the Disney Shanghai Resort in China’s most populous city, in which 5,500 million dollars have been invested over the five years it has taken to complete the construction of the first phase.

With an area of 2.74 square kilometers (parking and hotel included), it is the smallest of all Disney parks, but the most marked by the Asian culture. Several thematic areas, gastronomy and even a hotel in the shape of 8 (a number of good luck in Chinese culture), are the examples of Asia’s strong presence in this theme park.

According to Disney, the park will be able to accommodate up to 15 million people at the end of the year. Shanghai Disney Resort joins existing Walt Disney World Resort (Florida and California), Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Resort Paris (Paris) Disneyland Resort (Hong Kong) and Disney Cruise Line 2 (Caribbean cruise).
