Last week, BlueBay Group has met in Brazil with the company IDB Brazil, responsible from the tourism project Natura do Rio to finalize details of the construction works that the Spanish hotel chain will have at this resort complex. This new project will be built under three pillars of sustainability: economic, social and environmental.
Luis Fernandez de Souza, Governor of Rio de Janeiro and Washington Qua Qua, Mayor of Marica, attended one of the meetings where they give the final approval for the commencement of the construction works after the summer of 2015. At this meeting, both leaders showed to Jamal Satli Iglesias, president of BlueBay Group, and Joaquim Janer, CEO of BlueBay, their most sincere welcome to the area as well as their commitment to collaboration.
As the company announced in February, BlueBay Group has signed an agreement with the investor company for the construction of the hotels in the great resort Natura do Rio with 200,000 m2, located in the town of Marica, about 60 kilometers away from Rio de Janeiro.
The complex will have five hotels with 1,700 rooms in total. The first will be a five star luxury hotel under the brand of Blue Diamond, symbol of distinction of the international hotel chain. This hotel will have 300 rooms in front of an exclusive golf course, with beach and beach club and gardens and pools will surround it.
The resort will also feature a Grand BlueBay Rio with 700 rooms and a luxury Spa center where it will accommodate all types of Wellness and beauty treatments; and Grand BlueBay Samba Club, a theme hotel focused on dancing with 400 rooms.
Finally, to meet the needs of tourism business, the group plans to build a BlueBay City hotel with 200 rooms and large rooms for conventions and conferences, equipped with the latest technology in services.
As news, a private members club with 100 rooms under the concepts of Circle One will be built, under the holiday club brand.
Brazil has become the next big destination for the hotel and tourism investment in Latin America, an investment mainly geared to date in other countries like Mexico, Cuba and Dominican Republic, where BlueBay Group already has a presence. After the football World Cup in 2014 and with the Olympic Games to be held next year, the country has the necessary infrastructure to be able to meet the increasing number of travelers.
