It has everything you’re looking for. This area of Egypt is perfect for a trip full of contrasts

Anything you want, the Sinai Peninsula has it. This Egyptian region offers visitors a multitude of contrasts that make a tourist route a journey that teaches much more than you may think at first.

There is so much more to Egypt than its capital Cairo, the pyramids of Giza and the river Nile. Sinai Peninsula stands out firstly due to its geographic location: it is separated from the rest of the country by the Suez Canal, which makes it a part of Asia instead of Africa, with a natural border with the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Red Sea to the south.

It has a desert to the north, where a camel ride is a must while enjoying the silence and the blue sky in the dunes. This route can be done in quad if you are more of the adventure type.

As we go down south, we arrive at the historical Sinai, with its high summits, among them the Mount Sinai. According to the Old Testament, it is in this mountain of 2,285 meters, where Moses received the Tablets of the Law with the Ten Commandments.

At the foot of the mountain is the monastery of Sta. Catalina, World Heritage Site, and a place of great importance for housing the largest collection of codices and manuscripts after the Vatican Museums and for being respected by Christians, Jews and Muslims alike.

Both on Mount Sinai and the Catalina, the highest in the peninsula with 2,642 meters, you can go hiking and climbing at all levels.

After the mountainous areas in the Sinai Peninsula, one cannot miss the beach and relax on the shores of the Red Sea, teeming with coral reefs. Everything is possible on the coast: you can relax completely or enjoy the nightlife, golf, practising water sports or diving. In fact, the Red Sea is one of the favorite destinations for experienced divers, moving like a fish in deep water between high walls and pillars of coral.

Beginners in diving can always start with the snorkelling in more shallow waters and take their time, relax while watching exotic species like clownfish. With a little more luck you could even see dolphins or turtles.

Many coastal areas, such as Suina Ain, El Gouna, Hurghada, Taba or Sharm-el Sheikh also offer tourists a day of quality golfing on huge and beautiful golf courses.

It is precisely in this last area of Sharm el-Sheikh where you can enjoy most water activities and sports, and combine those with pleasant walks in the desert.

In fact, one of the best places for diving is the Ras Muhammad National Marine Park, just a few kilometers from Sharm el-Sheikh. A meeting point between the Gulf of Suez and Gulf of Aqaba, this protected area is home to thousands of marine species and beautiful coral reefs, perfectly preserved thanks to the awareness of those who visit.

There is also time for some night-time leisure and shopping in the area of Naam Bay, the go-to place if your goal is the party or a having a cocktail.

Sharm el-Sheikh also notable for being closely related to promoting peace between Palestinians and Israelis. It is here where four summits have been held throughout history, with objectives being the ceasefire or peace agreements. The city, undoubtedly, radiates serenity in every way.

In Sharm el-Sheikh, BlueBay Hotels & Resorts will soon open its hotel BlueBay Savanna*****, to be precise in the area of Shark´s Bay.
