Electrical power at the wheel

The days when cars with hybrid and electric drive systems were looked upon disdainfully over the shoulder are over. Their inferiority complex about power and speed in relation to diesel and gasoline engines is history. The segment of sports and supersports cars of this kind, in constant rise and development, has become an object of fancy much coveted in the luxury and super luxury market worldwide. We present you with some of its greatest jewels…

Koenigsegg Regera: This Swedish brand signs on a surprising hybrid model that develops a whopping 1,500 horsepower. The Regera, with an imposing and rugged look, goes from 0 to 400 km / h in just 20 seconds. Combustion engine and 8-cylinder twin-turbo reaches 1,100 hp, getting the aforementioned figure thanks to the efforts of its electrical engineer.

Rimac Concept One: This fully electric Croatian supercar is equipped with a separate drive motor for each of the four axes. This ingenious technical solution gives this car a not inconsiderable 1,088 hp. It can reach 305 km / h, while its autonomy is 500 km. Its numbers are impressive, as is its market price: 740,000 euros.

McLaren P1: From the UK, comes this true plug-in hybrid missile that develops 916 hp. It accelerates from 0 to 100 in a not inconsiderable 2.9 seconds, and its top speed is 350 km / h. It incorporates the latest technology used in Formula 1. Watch out as in pure electric mode it has only 20 km of autonomy. It is a toy intended for use on bounded circuits, exceeding the value of one million euros.

Tesla Model S: This electric sports sedan is perhaps the easiest model to see rolling on conventional roads. The American company has provided this elegant specimen with a rear propulsion engine developing 422 hp. It accelerates from 0 to 100 in a decent 4.35 seconds. Their autonomy is between 426 and 483 km. It may be a drawback for speed freaks that its top speed is limited to “only” 209 km / h.
