BlueBay Hotels launches the second edition of its BlueBay Thinks Pink solidarity campaign to raise money and promote the fight against breast cancer, which has the highest incidence and prevalence by five years among women with 29% and 40.8% respectively[1]. Thus, BlueBay Hotels associates itself once again to the breast cancer awareness campaign that takes place every October all around the world.

BlueBay Hotels will coordinate the campaign around two focal points: “€1 is worth more” and “Dishes for a cause” and will carry it out at chain’s hotels in Spain and the Caribbean and also in the BlueBay Gourmet chain of restaurants belonging to the group. BlueBay Hotels will donate the money collected in Spain to the Spanish Association Against Cancer, while the money raised in the Caribbean will go to the Bella Foundation in Mexico.

“At BlueBay Hotels we’re looking to promote a responsible tourism model in collaboration with our customers that allows us to raise social awareness about different aspects that affect our surroundings. BlueBay Thinks Pink is a clear example of our commitment”, says Jamal Satli Iglesias, chairman of BlueBay Hotels.

‘€1 is worth more’ & ‘Dishes for a cause’, focal points of the campaign

BlueBay Hotels invokes a philosophy of responsible tourism in all its establishments worldwide. One of the hotel chain’s pioneering actions of social responsibility is “€1 is worth more”. BlueBay Hotels offers guests staying at any of its hotels the possibility to add one euro to the cost of their stay as a donation. BlueBay Hotels pledges to double the total amount raised to fund different projects aimed at helping people at risk of social exclusion.

As part of the BlueBay Thinks Pink campaign, during the month of October BlueBay Hotels is allocating the money collected at its premises in Spain and the Caribbean to the fight against breast cancer to reduce the impact caused by this illness, to improve the quality of life of women affected and their families, and promote research in the area. The chain has 20 hotels in Spain in different areas including the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Andalusia, Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid, and 8 in the Caribbean, namely in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Panama.

In addition, the BlueBay Thinks Pink campaign will also raise money at the four BlueBay Gourmet restaurants the company has in Marbella: Aretusa 1, Carpaccio, Black & White, and La Marina.
