We interviewed the Director of Operations of the Hotel Miguel Angel by BlueBay, Auday Auchi, who presents the key management of this emblematic hotel.

LookOut Magazine: What aspects do you consider that the Hotel Miguel Angel differ from other hotel deals in Madrid?

Auday Auchi: There are many aspects that definitely differentiate us from other hotels. First of all, the privileged location of the hotel, the gastronomic offer of its various restaurants and especially the M29 restaurant, an impeccable spa and a unique, exclusive and authentic garden in Paseo de la Castellana. On the other hand, we consider it essential to focus on a careful customer service that you can feel as soon as entering the Hall of the Hotel; for this it is crucial the perfect management of a team that aims to reach the highest quality standards. The personnel selection procedure is carried out with the highest exigency, which is a basic requirement to be part of the team in order to live, the philosophy of the organization: communication, optimism, continuous improvement, productivity, respect, proactivity and customer orientation.

L.M.: What do you customers highlight the most about the Hotel Miguel Angel?

A.A.: We are encouraged to note that we are doing things right and our customers value the service we offer as a distinguish element despite other hotel offers that surround us. The welfare of our customers is essential for the Hotel Miguel Angel. As Director of Operations, I identify and promote actions for the continuous improvement of the hotel. The constant enhancement in performing protocols of the different departments is essential to engage perfectly all the machinery that is part of this great hotel. A true reflection of the good work of the hotel is the Club Miguel Angel, an exclusive hotel on the 5th floor for clients who wish a unique experience during their stay.

L.M.: The hotel also hosts different venues such as wedding, communions or company conventions. What do you think are the keys to ensure the success of these events?

A.A.: Success is guaranteed, as we love what we do, we listen and advise our customers in all the details of the event, from selecting the menu to search for additional services in order to customize the event celebration to be unique and unforgettable. We have a highly qualified event team that handles perfectly every aspect according to the tastes and needs of our customers.

L.M.: On the other hand, we cannot forget that you could also manage to conquer the palate of your customers. What would you highlight from the cuisine of the Hotel Miguel Angel by Bluebay?

A.A.: We have a first class cuisine thanks to its three restaurants. It highlights the M29 restaurant with its Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, its minimalist decoration, exclusive service, large windows overlooking the busy Paseo de la Castellana and its well-known special menus “Take care and Love yourself ”. Furthermore, we have expanded our offer including Halal menus to meet the needs of customers who demand this type of gastronomy. It is essential to have an improved range of services that can be customized and adapted to each client. It is a real pleasure for me to check daily the various operational areas of the hotel including the restaurants and make sure that everything works, as it should.

L.M.: Are you working on anything new that you could anticipate us?

A.A.: The work in a hotel never stops and we always try to improve ourselves. And now, we are finalizing the details of the upcoming refurbishment of the hotel. We would like to position the hotel within the first three five-star in Madrid, achieving the full satisfaction of our customers, making their stay unique as well as facing the changes with courage and leadership.
