Continued exposure to the sun, humidity, salt and chlorine all have an impact on our skin’s health and after the summer holidays, we need to set some things right to keep it looking fresh and revitalise it ahead of the next season. After the summer has finished, we all want to prolong our tan in the most natural way possible so it lasts longer and we do everything possible to get rid of the sun spots left behind after sunbathing. Here are some beauty tips and tricks so your skin keeps that summery glow. Take note!

How to prolong your tan after the summer?

  1. Moisturise your skin with body cream or oil after showering. Aloe Vera is your best friend. It refreshes and moisturises your skin in one go.
  2. Opt for a suntan lotion that protects your skin and gives you a naturally bronzed look.
  3. Before going out in the sun, exfoliate your skin well to remove all the dead skin cells and get a nice, even tan.
  4. Remember to apply a nourishing face mask when your return from the beach or the pool, this soothes and moisturises the skin.
  5. While sunbathing, choose a sunscreen that contains carrot extract to speed up tanning.
  6. Enhance your natural tan with airbrush makeup. The result leaves your skin looking very fresh and natural, creating the effect that it’s your own natural tan.
  7. You can also opt for bronzing powders but be careful with the spray formats as they leave stains and are difficult to apply.

How to cover up sun spots?

If it’s a white spot, use a dark corrector that matches your skin tone to blend in with your face and the base of your skin tone. To give it the finishing touch, use a powder puff to shade your skin with translucent powders to avoid dragging the correction of the spot too much.

If the spot is dark, apply makeup with the same tone as the spot or touch up the spot with a clearer tone. This way you lower the tone of the spot, and bring it closer to your skin tone.
