Almost 12% more international tourists visited Spain during the first 6 months of the year

Positive results for tourism in Spain with numbers up by 11.7% compared to last year. 32.8 million international tourists visited Spain in the first half of 2016.

This information was obtained from the National Statistics Institute (INE) via the Survey of Tourist Movements on Borders (Frontur). In June of this year, 7.6 million tourists visited Spain, exceeding the percentage for the first 6 months, and arriving at 12.7%.

By countries, the UK was the largest group of visitors with 7.9 million holidaymakers (16.5%), followed by Germany with 5 million, up 6.7% on last year, and France with 4.6 million visitors, also up by 8.2%.
