Costa del Sol has proved recently at Expovacaciones Bilbao that Basque tourists’ main interests in Málaga are Caminito del Rey and the coast.
The stand of Costa del Sol at the Expovacaciones Bilbao, held recently, has welcomed lots of visitors really interested in some precise places in Málaga, related to excursions and summer holidays.
Costa del Sol has finished at Expovacaciones Bilbao with two of their main offers as biggest selling points for the Basque tourist: Caminito del Rey and the coast of Málaga.
Elías Bendodo, Costa del Sol tourism president confirms that “since last edition we have noticed a growing interest in Caminito del Rey, as well as the obvious preference for the coast of Málaga”. Besides, Bendodo added “there are another attractive offers such as Gran Senda or Senda Litoral. It’s what we know as Active Tourism with more and more fans, especially interested in natural environment and the beaches, of course”.
El Gran Desafío 2015 (the great challenge) pretends to cover Spain, linking Caminito del Rey, Gran Senda and Senda litoral. In fact, all of them have already been at the national fairs along with Turismo Costa del Sol: B-Travel, Sevatur, Navartur, all of them in different Spanish regions. Also, Costa del Sol had presence in the most important international events: the World Travel Market, the ITB and Fitur.
Several goals are committed to be reached through these events. One of them is to approach the national increased during the first quarter of the year, due the hotel overnight stays increasing. At the same time, inland tourism brings 844.000 visitors to the province reaching a profit up to €831 million.
