  1. The old town

It’s quirky and perfectly preserved between walls. It is of accessible size, perfect to visit on foot and stroll through its nooks. It is full of ramps and stairs that connect its two parts: La Ville Haute (Upper Town) and La Ville Baisse (Lower Town). It is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

       2. Its rivers

The Alzette and the Petrusse run through the city, creating a place connected by bridges and viaducts that, as well as serving for communication, also become perfect viewpoints. Among the best known is the Adolphe bridge, transformed into a tourist attraction.

  1. The European Union

Robert Schuman, the father of the European Community par excellence, was born in Luxembourg. The headquarters of the Court of Justice and the Court of Auditors of the current European Union, among other bodies, are located in the European district of the city.

  1. The neighborhood of Grund

It is a bohemian and casual neighborhood, a cult place for going out at night with good ambience in bars and terraces. In this neighborhood you will also find the Neumünster Abbey, a meeting place, and the National Museum of Natural History.

  1. The Corniche

Some consider it the most beautiful “balcony” in Europe. The image of the city seen from this place stays engraved in the memory of visitors. It is located in the Upper Town, on a long walk linking the Plateau du Saint Esprit with the Rock of Bock. Along the Corniche we can see the most stately homes and the landscapes left by the Alzette valley and the plateau of Rham.

They are one of the most visited tourist attractions. It is a set of fortifications and bunkers that, back in the day, turned the city into a great fortress.

The topography of the country allows the practice of hiking if we want to combine cultural tourism with some activity in the countryside. The Eisleck or the Mullerthal route are two of the best.

  1. The Ardennes

This northern region is one of the natural reserves of the country, full of ruins of medieval castles. Furthermore, it is the perfect place for hiking and cycling.

  1. The other cities of Luxembourg

Not all is the capital. The cities of Diekirch, Vianden, Echternach and Grevenmacher are good places to visit if you want to fill yhour backpack with castles and history. Among them, the house-museum of Victor Hugo Vianden.

  1. The people

In a country where nearly half the population is foreign, the Luxembourgers are used to accommodate those who arrive, although at first they may seem cold.
