John McEnroe, the tennis player who turns sport into show, returns to the slopes

Rivalry and show at the senior tennis tournament Masters Cup which takes place in Marbella with the presence of great legends of the tennis world.

The Senior Masters Cup tournament is held from today until September 24 at Club de Tenis Puente Romano Beach Resort & Spa. The competitions start with a double session with two matches scheduled for the afternoon: at 19: 00h Sebastian Grosjean vs Younes El Aynaoui and at 21: 00h Mats Wilander vs. Yannick Noah.

At the presentation of the tournament have been present most international tennis stars that make up the cast of this sporting event: John McEnroe, Yannick Noah, Sebastian Grosjean and Albert Costa. The other two players who play in the cup, Mats Wilander and Younes El Aynaoui are planning to reach the capital of the Costa del Sol on thursday.

During the ceremony, the players have shown great complicity and have confirmed their willingness to compete in a tournament in which they demonstrate that their competitiveness is still active on the track.

“I come to Marbella to win,” highlited the American John McEnroe while Frenchman Yannick Noah has made it clear that the US will not achieve that goal because “I have been totally focused for the tournament”. A duel is coming.

Meanwhile, Sebastian Grosjean has shown excited “by holding a tournament that brings together legends of world tennis like the Spanish, Albert Costa, who underlined the importance of Marbella again regain a tournament that places the city at the center of international tennis”.

In this call press it has been also announced the celebration of tribute to former Spanish tennis player Manolo Santana on Saturday at 08: 30h with the designation of the centre court of the Tennis Club Marbella with his name.

Asimismo se ha desvelado el diseño de los trofeos que ganarán los vencedores del torneo Senior Masters Cup, una escultura elaborada con el vidrio reciclado por la empresa pública Ecovidrio.

La cita ha contado con la presencia del alcalde de Marbella, Jose Bernal, el secretario para el Deporte de la Junta de Andalucía, Antonio Fernández, el Director General del Puente Romano Beach Resort & Spa, Jorge Manzur, el ex tenista, Manolo Santana y el D. Fundador y CEO de Tennium , Kristoff Puelinckx.

Los partidos se disputarán en horario nocturno (7pm y 9pm) y serán televisados por Teledeporte (TVE). Durante el día, los asistentes y sponsors podrán disfrutar de las bondades del Puente Romano Beach Resort & Spa. El tenis será la excusa perfecta para además disfrutar del golf, los ProAm de tenis con las estrellas y del área de hospitalidad.
